The chrysanthemum, that most imperial of flowers, has dual associations – with longevity and joy in Japan and with death, bereavement and immortality in some parts of Europe. Here they are embedded with extracts of the poem All is Well which has been a great source of comfort to me.

‘I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,
Just around the corner.
All is well.’
